The Chronomat was first introduced in 1984. bravely going against the trend of the day for extra-thin quartz timepieces. and instead presenting a robust. impressively proportioned mechanical watch.

And it’s a risk that paid off – the model proved a popular celebration of Breitling’s centenary and hailed the return of the mechanical chronograph to prominence.
